Key Club Gig a Success!

Hey all!

The Ritards just performed at Save the Beat Benefit Concert.  It was such an amazing experience for all of us. I’m sure none of us will forget it!  Especially since the Ritards got to meet so many YouTube Stars that also performed there, such as AJ Rafael, Summer Breeze, Jenny Suk, Rollie Beats, Adrian Per, and many many many more!

And as usual, we have a couple of great videos to show, this time brought to by YouTuber ad1d7sCV who has many other great videos of other groups.

ICCA at Berkeley

Hellllo Everybody!

It’s me, Kevin, the Pink college Ritard. I just wanted to let you guys know we are done with ICCA this year and it was a lot of fun. Here’s a little bit of what happened:

Friday

Me and Carlin ended up in Cupertino at around 3:30AM on Friday Morning. Carlin crashed at my place. We woke up at around 11ish and got working on music. We ate lunch then met up with Alex Leu. We then worked on choreo and after dinner Peter and John showed up and we began rehearsing. We couldn’t get in contact with Jerry because his phone was having problems, but Jerry is amazingly fast at learning music so we figured he could learn it the next day when we saw it.

Saturday

In the morning Alex, Peter and I headed to Patrick (from the high school Ritards)’s place and we met Carlin there. Carlin took us to Berkeley and we arrived at about 1ish. We rehearsed our music and met up with Jerry. We received a phone call saying that John would no longer be able to attend due to some personal problems. at 3pm, we started scavenging for new music to sing. By 3:30 we decided on We Intertwined (The Hush Sound) and Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics). We rehearsed until 4:20 when we had to attend a performers meeting at Wheeler the performance hall. After the meeting (around 5) we went to grab dinner and at 5:50ish we had our sound check. Everything was set up for large groups. The condensers did nothing for us.  After sound check we finished dinner and continued to rehearse until our voices were shot. We rested for about 30 min and then did a final rehearsal.

We were the 4th group to perform, also closing the first act. I had so much fun, and I’m sure all the other members did too! I hope all of you who watched has as much fun as we did. At that point we weren’t competitng to win anymore, which relieved a lot of stress. We did it to have fun, and we accomplished our goal.

Thanks to everybody who came out to support us!

Your Pink College Ritard,

Happy Chinese New Year

Hey guys,

It’s been a long time since our last post! We have been extremely busy lately! Just wanted to update everyone on what is going on:
Just last week, we had a couple gigs celebrating Chinese New Year.  Both gigs had a lot of people that showed great support!  It was a lot of fun to sing for such huge crowds, something we rarely get to do.
Tomorrow, Wednesday Feb. 10, the Ritards will be singing at Saratoga High School for the Benefit Concert for CURE.  It starts at 7:00 PM and the Ritards are last to show!  Tickets are $5 for students $7 for adults.  All proceeds go to CURE, Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy by raising funds for research and by increasing awareness of the prevalence and devastation of this disease.
Soon, the Ritards will be putting out some videos! For those of you unaware, the Ritards have been cancelled from the ICHSA competition due to lack of competitors.  However, there is still hope: a wild card audition!  All we have to do is send in a video! and that means we will be making a couple videos soon and posting on youtube! so look out for them
Finally, the college Ritards are competing in their first ever ICCA competition.  They will be performing at UC Berkeley on February 20.  Wish them luck!

Great News!

Hey guys, long time no talk!

Recently we have some wonderful news that has just arrived.  Both the high school and college Ritards have been accepted to the ICHSA and ICCA competitions respectively.  It is an amazing step the Ritards have taken and we are extremely excited to compete in this national competition this year!

If you are wondering what ICHSA or ICCA is check out this website
www.varsityvocals.com

Also a new feature we have is the addition of our music player to the right.  It plays the three songs the high school Ritards recorded when entering the ICHSA competition.

And finally, our last piece of GREAT NEWS! The Ritards are having a Christmas concert at Santana Row.  It will start precisely at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 27.  So come out, shop, eat some dinner, and watch us sing. You definitely will not want to miss this!

First Gig

Hey guys,

We have acquired our new member, Brandon Chen from Mission San Jose.  We are excited to be able to work with him and add him into our Ritard’s family.  We have already begun working as of last week.  We rehearsed and learned 3 songs already, and even performed them just yesterday at a small gig at Union Church, Cupertino for some young children.  The songs went very well, and we are preparing for our next gig already.  We can tell this season will be extremely exciting. Hopefully we will find numerous gigs to perform at so that we can get our name out.  Don’t forget, if you would like to see us at your next event, make sure to contact any of us immediately.  We would be happy to sing for anyone!  Keep watching out for us and thanks for coming.
